Order of Merit of the State of Berlin for Anita Tillmann and Norbert Tillmann

Anita Tillmann and Norbert Tillmann, owners and managing directors of Premium Exhibitions GmbH, have been awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Berlin. Berlin’s Governing Mayor, Klaus Wowereit conferred the honor last Friday in the Great Hall of the Red Town Hall to 14 citizens in recognition and appreciation of their outstanding service to the city of Berlin.

“Anita Tillmann and Norbert Tillmann represent the best of both cosmopolitanism and a down-to-earth Berlin sensibility. Their commitment is visionary but not out of touch with reality. They are financially successful and, at the same time, actively involved in social projects. [...]” said Klaus Wowereit in his speech honoring the two entrepreneurs.

As the creative engine of Berlin Fashion Week and founders of the exclusive fashion trade show PREMIUM, Anita Tilllmann and Norbert Tillmann have decisively shaped the status of the city of Berlin as an international fashion base. Their activity in the fashion sector encompasses, moreover, the promotion of young designers through the conferral of the Young Designer Awards and the hosting of workshops, symposia and events relevant to the industry at their own event location “STATION-Berlin”. But it is also their social commitment for Berlin assistance programs such as “Straßenkinder Berlin e.V.” or “i-magine e.V.”, the AIDS education program for adolescents, that characterizes the dedicated work of Anita Tillmann and Norbert Tillmann for the city of Berlin.

Further recipients of this year’s Order of Merit of the State of Berlin included the actress Nina Hoss, Ursula and Heiner Pietzsch and Dr. Arend Oetker.
